At Germain Hotels, sustainability shapes how we think and operate every day, as we strive to make your stay more comfortable. From innovative construction and design practices to reimagining food and community partnerships, we’ve spent almost 40 years finding creative ways to do better.
Our latest Sustainability Report presents the progress we’ve made. We’re proud to share it with you.
Behind everything you see in our hotels –and even what you don’t–is a genuine, conscious approach. Whenever we can reduce our footprint, we do. By choosing responsible, reusable, and renewable options, we continually strive to enhance your experience, down to the smallest detail.

Our gardens prioritize responsible production, with no chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and include beehives and compost systems. This commitment to freshness is reflected in all our restaurants, which rely on local market gardeners when needed.

LEED Gold certified, this hotel was built using recycled materials, energy-efficient technologies, and Canadian-made furniture. It exemplifies the responsible construction practices we apply to all our projects across the country.

We collaborated with Canadian artist Michelle Hoogveld, who created a 171-foot-high mural on the hotel’s façade. This bold gesture illustrates our commitment to showcasing local artwork, both large and small, across all our hotels.

In Ottawa, we use the Too Good To Go app to rescue unsold items from the day. This initiative complements the many strategies implemented by our teams across the country to reduce food waste.

Our chef works with local fishers, ensuring full traceability and showcasing regional products. This commitment to sustainable fishing extends beyond Quebec, where several of our restaurants are proudly Fourchette bleue certified.

Bicycles are available for you to explore the city, and bike-sharing services are also easily accessible. Our locations encourage active mobility and the use of public transportation.
