In Quebec City, winter becomes a true playground. From skiing and skating to sliding and snowy strolls across the Plains of Abraham, there are endless ways to enjoy the season outdoors.
Ski for free on one of the most accessible and enchanting sites with a breathtaking view of the St.Lawrence River. The Plains of Abraham offer 12.6 km of groomed trails for beginner and intermediate cross-country skiers, 3.8 km (round trip) for snowshoers and 5.6 km of walking trails. In the Quebec area, we've been sliding for a long time! Did you know that, in the middle of the 19th century, people used to toboggan on the hills on the Plains of Abraham? That slide was built on Dufferin Terrace at the end of the 19th century, and Quebec residents and tourists are still using it.
Skating in the heart of the action is now possible at Place D’Youville! Glide for free across a refrigerated rink amid the ambiance of Old Quebec, just across from Porte Saint-Jean and Capitole de Quebec.
Forgot your skates? Don't worry, a rental service is available on site. You can also have your skates sharpened, and lockers are available during opening hours. Bring your padlock!
