Health and hygiene measures - Comprehensive guide
The safety of our guests and team members is of utmost importance to us. Here are some additional hygiene measures we have implemented in our hotels, over and above our already high standards.
Hygiene measures - Guests
Mask: Wearing a mask in indoor public spaces is mandatory in all our hotels.
Contactless check-in and check-out: Our protocols have been revised to ensure you a contactless arrival and departure. Protective screens have also been installed at each hotel’s reception desk.
Physical distancing: Signage and markings have been placed in all public and employees-only common areas, to ensure physical distancing guidelines are respected.
Queuing: All areas where guests or employees must line up have been clearly marked and delineated to indicate the recommended spacing between individuals. This includes reception areas, elevator lobbies, restaurants and cafes.
Hand sanitizer: Hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed in several areas throughout each hotel, including service entrances, reception area, lobby, restaurant entrances, meeting rooms, elevator lobbies and fitness room.
Cleaning products and protocols: Our hotels use cleaning products and protocols that have been approved for combating viruses, bacteria and other airborne and bloodborne pathogens.
Secure rooms: To assure that your room is not contaminated, you are the only individual(s) who will enter it during your stay. All rooms are left vacant for the recommended period before being cleaned and reassigned, in accordance with our enhanced cleaning protocol.
Public spaces and common areas: The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing has been increased (once per hour or more frequently for high circulation areas) in all public spaces, with extra attention given to high-contact surfaces. This includes but is not limited to: reception desk, valets’ area, elevators and elevator buttons, doorknobs, public restrooms, room keys and room locks, stair railings, gym equipment, eating surfaces and seating areas.
Elevators: We request that guests take the elevator one person at a time, unless they are sharing a room or they reside at the same address.
Room recovery protocol: In the event of a presumptive case of COVID-19, the guest’s room will be quarantined. The room will not be reassigned or reused until the guest has been tested. If the result is positive, the room will be returned to service only after a specialized expert has carried out the recommended sanitation protocols.
Hygiene measures - Employees
Training of team members: All employees have been trained in safety and sanitation protocols as they apply to COVID-19.
Hand washing: Hand washing with soap and water and in accordance with the recommended washing technique is mandatory for all employees. If an employee does not have access to soap and water, they must disinfect their hands with the appropriate disinfectant.
Personal protective equipment (PPE): The wearing of personal protective equipment (masks, gloves) is mandatory for all employees whose position requires it, in accordance with the directives of the local health authorities. Training in the use and handling of PPE is also mandatory.
Materials shared by team members: Shared tools and equipment must be sanitized before, during and after each shift, or whenever the items are transferred to another team member.
Signage in employees-only areas: Signage has been posted throughout the hotel to remind employees of sanitary guidelines, in particular how to wear and handle a mask, how to use gloves (for positions that health authorities consider to be at risk), handwashing techniques, safe practices when coughing and sneezing, and how to avoid touching one’s face.
Cleaning of employees-only areas: The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing has been increased in high traffic areas, with extra attention given to employee rooms and restrooms, delivery zones, offices and kitchens.
Our protocols are continuously updated as new information becomes available, and in accordance with government directives.
