Germain Hotels partners with Teknotip, the electronic payment solution for tipping


Montreal, June 16, 2022 – Germain Hotels is proud to announce that Teknotip, an electronic tipping service, is now available in its eighteen properties across Canada. Guests staying at Germain Hotels can express their satisfaction with the quality of service from their mobile phones without worrying about having cash on them: a solution that hotel team members who work with customers will appreciate.

Improving conditions for staff members
Valets, housekeepers, reception staff: many hotel industry workers have seen their incomes dwindle with the arrival of payment cards. By using the Teknotip solution, Germain Hotels is changing the game and eliminating the obstacles that guests had when leaving tips. Guests can tip the desired amount from their mobile phones through a simple and easy-to-use interface.

For employees, in addition to the salary they make, tips are a form of recognition of the efforts that each one puts into making every stay at a Le Germain, Alt or Escad hotel a pleasant one. It is a great motivator that encourages them to maintain the highest standard of service. In the end, it is the customer who benefits.

Tipping from your phone
You don't have to be tech-savvy to use Teknotip’s solution. Guests simply scan the QR code given to them with their room key card, then fill in the fields on the page that opens. They can then enter the Press release For immediate release

A noteworthy appearance on the show Dans l’oeil du dragon
The partnership between Germain Hotels and Teknotip came to life in the public eye when Mr. Bédard appeared on the show Dans l'oeil du dragon (the French version of Dragon’s Den), where Christiane Germain is a dragon.
