A foodie itinerary
Toronto is best experienced through its food, its people, and the places where stories unfold over a great meal or a good cup of coffee. I love exploring the city at my own pace, stopping at the spots that truly capture its local flavour and charm. Here’s how I’d spend a perfect day — filled with good food, welcoming people, and a few personal favourites.

For lunch, I’d head to L’Avenue and order the spicy chicken benny. If you’re in the mood for something different, Lulu Bar’s BBQ crispy half duck is a must-try.

Late afternoon calls for a drink or two. I often stop by Melrose on Adelaide for happy hour — it’s elegant but relaxed, with a great atmosphere. Another great choice is Saint John’s Tavern, known for its friendly staff and classic neighbourhood feel.

Dinner at Richmond Station is always a highlight. I love sitting at the kitchen counter to watch the team at work — it’s part of the show. I start with the butternut squash and lemongrass soup, then go for their signature STN. Burger, a Toronto favourite that never disappoints.

To end the evening, I like to walk through Berczy Park, a charming spot that feels peaceful even in the middle of downtown. Then I’ll stop at Bar Cart for a perfectly mixed cocktail.
If you prefer live music, Berczy Tavern is the place to go — the atmosphere is warm and lively, and you can’t leave without trying the banana bread pudding or the burnt Basque cheesecake.
