Canada Day | July 1
This year, the Downtown Core will come alive with energy and variety. You’ll find heritage and patriotic programming on Parliament Hill, vibrant live music and fireworks at LeBreton Flats Park, a high-energy street party in Hull featuring The Strumbellas, and hands-on activities for families in front of the Supreme Court of Canada.

Changing of the Guard | July 1 to August 14
See the Changing of the Guard on Parliament Hill. Daily at 10 a.m., soldiers in scarlet uniforms and bearskin hats perform alongside the military band in this free Ottawa summer tradition. The full parade takes place Thursday through Sunday, while the band performs Monday through Wednesday. Schedule may vary due to weather or special events.

Nature after 5 | Every Thursday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Enjoy free evening admission to the Canadian Museum of Nature and explore galleries featuring dinosaur fossils, Arctic ecosystems, Canadian wildlife, minerals, and more. Set within a stunning heritage castle, this experience offers an inspiring journey throughout the natural world. Tickets are required.

Music and Beyond Festival | July 4 to July 7
The Music and Beyond festival presents dozens of concerts across Ottawa from July 4 to July 7. Musical performances are paired with dance, theatre, visual art, poetry, yoga, acrobatics, and more. The festival’s goal is to make classical music accessible to all audiences, including students, seniors, and families.

Live music in the hotel lobby | July 10 and 11
Spend the evening with us at Le Germain Hotel Ottawa lobby and enjoy live music from 4 to 7 p.m. Yves Laroche will perform on the piano on July 10, followed by Kyle Jordan on the guitar on July 11.

RBC Bluesfest
From July 10 to 20, experience the energy and world-class performances of one of North America’s largest music festivals. Rock, pop, hip-hop, and of course blues come together in a diverse lineup, promising unforgettable nights just minutes from the hotel.

Wood Terrace Series | July and August
Spend your sunsets enjoying live music on the National Art Center's Wood Terrace. Inspirational artists explore themes of culture, identity, and tradition during free outdoor concerts every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The terrace is accessible by elevator or from Elgin Street, the canal, and the Mackenzie King Bridge.

Parliament Pilates | July and August
Enjoy outdoor mat Pilates sessions on Parliament Hill. Open to all levels, these classes offer a welcoming way to move, stretch, and recharge in a relaxed setting. With 12 sessions throughout the summer, the program combines wellness, community, and scenic views in the heart of the city.

Ottawa Chamberfest | July 23 to August 2
For two weeks, internationally renowned artists perform at Ottawa’s churches, museums, galleries, theatres, and heritage sites. The festival also features the Chamberfringe series, blending classical music with comedy, film, fantasy, and other unexpected themes.
