Staycation in Nova Scotia

Our suggestions of things to do in this beautiful province.

I asked my friend Rachel Lightfoot, from the amazing (seriously) Lightfoot & Wolfville winery. Rachel and her family, to me, are come of Nova Scotia’s best ambassadors, so it was natural for us to go to her for suggestions of things to do in this beautiful province.

Drive or walk around Halifax

The city is beautiful and just walking in it is a treat. Here are a few favourites to be leisurely enjoyed:

Be on your way to Dartmouth

From Halifax, you can take the Alderney Ferry from Downtown Halifax to Dartmouth. A must in Dartmouth? Take out from YeahYeah’s Pizza and a coffee at Two If By Sea Café, where you can get delicious Anchored coffee.

Visit the lovely community of Hubbard’s

About 50km from Halifax sits the charming Hubbard’s. An all time faourte Lobster Supper at The Shore Club, followed by, why not, a walk at dusk on Hubbard’s Beach

Finally, don’t miss Wolfville / Grand Pré

Start your day with a walk through Grand Pré National Historic Site, then go see the lovely people at Lightfoot & Wolfville Vineyards for some lunch and wine. Then, stop by the Wolfville Farmer’s Market and finish the day with walking or biking the Harvest Moon Trailway.

Have fun!
