Fall fun in Ottawa

The season of colours has arrived in Ottawa! We’re seizing the opportunity by exploring outdoors as well as enjoying cozy outings to the capital’s many museums.

Canada Agriculture and Food Museum

Visit the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum for an unforgettable journey through the fascinating world of food and agriculture. The permanent exhibit highlights food conservation, natural resources in agriculture and even food in outer space! The Space to Spoon exhibition demonstrates how Canadian farmers can benefit from space technologies to achieve more sustainable food production. A must for all enthusiasts of science and food.

Proulx Maple & Berry Farm

Squash season is in full swing! Make the most of it with a visit to Proulx Maple & Berry Farm, just 30 minutes east of downtown Ottawa. It’s the perfect place to pick your own squash and pumpkins, as well as enjoy a delicious meal at the on-site canteen. It’s an outing that’s fun for the whole family — and a great opportunity to stock up on provisions for preparing your own scrumptious meals back at home!

Moyra Davey at the National Gallery of Canada

Admire the work of Moyra Davey, one of Canada's most progressive conceptual artists, in the exhibition Moyra Davey: The Faithful, on display at the National Gallery of Canada from October 1, 2020 to January 4, 2021. The exhibition features photos, films and texts that take you inside the world of the exceptional artist; as well as I Confess, her new film about her memories of life in Quebec during the 1970s and ‘80s.

Beyond the Pale microbrewery

In addition to its collection of beers and ciders available year-round, Beyond the Pale microbrewery, located in Little Italy, produces several seasonal beers, including North East Pale Ales and West Coast IPAs. And don’t miss their specialty cuisine featuring all things smoked! The menu includes a whole section dedicated to jerk and BBQ chicken, North Carolina-style pulled pork, and even smoked tofu!

Self-guided urban art tour

In many Ottawa neighbourhoods, and in the city centre in particular, you’ll discover an array of murals and graffiti that lend the city its unique character. Follow House of PainT’s virtual map to find your way through this veritable urban museum.
