Christiane Germain
Co-President

Dedicated and passionate about the hotel industry since forever, Christiane Germain has held the reins of Germain Hotels next to her brother Jean-Yves Germain for more than 30 years.

At the head of a successful Quebec company, it goes without saying that Christiane’s entrepreneurial qualities allow her to stand out both professionally and personally. Her dynamism, tenacity and inventiveness have all been honored on several occasions by the business world as well as by Canada’s tourism community.

Christiane is proud to co-lead a company that promotes the great values of the Germain family and to offer careers within a growing company. Having the economic vitality of the country at heart, Christiane attaches great importance to Canadian talent, which she supports in particular through the local procurement policy implemented by the company. In addition to presiding over the destinies of a growing company, Christiane Germain is president of the board of directors of the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec and is involved in numerous charitable causes.

Jean-Yves Germain
Co-President

Jean-Yves is co-president of Germain Hôtels. Trained at the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) and gifted with a keen business sense, he oversees development, orchestrates financing and supervises the construction of all hotels.

Jean-Yves began his career in the restaurant industry. It was there where he first tried his hand at raising capital. Since then, he has mastered the structuration of investment funds and financial strategies for the company’s hotel developments. Germain Hôtels, whose finances he personally manages, is ranked among the 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada thanks to its economic and financial health.

Alongside his career as a hotelier, Jean-Yves is president of Casot Limited, a company based in Québec City that owns and operates a number of commercial and residential properties. He also sits on a number of boards of directors and is active in several charities in his community.

Marie Pier Germain
Vice-President Sales and Marketing

Marie Pier embodies the new generation of Canadian women entrepreneurs. Open-minded, determined, meticulous and creative, she is recognized as a leader whose focus, no matter the situation, is firmly set on the human aspect of things. In her eyes, at Germain Hotels, the needs of our team members and the experience of our guests are both of equal importance. Her multidisciplinary background gives her a clear advantage in achieving successfully the projects she undertakes.

Hugo Germain
Vice-President, Operations

Armed with experience in business development in the retail trade and an MBA from Queen’s University, Hugo officially joined Germain Hôtels’ operations in 2006.

Involved from the outset in the development of the Alt concept, Hugo actively participated in the design, construction, start-up and operations of the first Alt property and held the position of General Manager of Alt Hotel Quartier DIX30 in its first year of operation. He is committed to making the banner a leader in its field in Canada.

Hugo is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Horizon Charlevoix. He is also a member of the boards of directors of the Séminaire Saint-François and its Foundation, as well as the Festival d’été de Québec since 2013.

Laurie Germain
Vice-president, Teams and Culture

With many years of experience in human resources, Laurie has mastered all aspects of the field: staffing, employee induction and integration, occupational health and safety, labour relations, employment equity, pay equity, etc. She worked for 15 years, including eight as Director of Human Resources for GDI Services, a supply partner of Germain Hotels. Of course, she loves the human side of her work and believes - with good reason - that people are the most valuable asset of any company.

A member of the Germain Hotels management team since 2020, Laurie has renewed ties forged during her student days as a receptionist at two of the company's hotels. Today, she infuses the hotel group's HR strategy with rigour and a mature management style. Her organizational skills, altruism and empathy towards team members guarantee the quality of the employee experience at Germain Hotels.

Charles Bureau, Ing.
Vice-President of IT

With over 23 years of experience in technology and a bachelor's degree in computer science engineering with a concentration in management, Charles began his career as a young entrepreneur in IT consulting. Distinguished by his dynamism, integrity, rigor and leadership. He has been leading the Germain Hotels IT team since 2010, where he is responsible for governance, technology strategy and digital transformation.

A member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec, Charles is an innovator and catalyst for change. He is also known for his negotiating skills and his ability to manage multiple complex projects.

Also member of the board of directors of Réseau Action TI, an organization promoting technology in Quebec, he also chairs the Audit Committee. Passionate about karate, he is a member of the board of directors of the Yoseikan Karate-Do Federation since 2006 and holds a 6th Dan black belt.

Pascal Rioux, M. Sc., CPA, CIRP
Chief Financial Officer

With his rigorous academic background and professional credentials, Pascal launched his career in the field of auditing at PwC, one of the four largest firms in the world. He soon moved into corporate restructuring, primarily with the prestigious firm Deloitte, where he had the opportunity to work on major reorganizations that allowed companies to continue with their operations. Over the years, Pascal has mastered the management of many aspects of a business, including stakeholders, finance, administration, and more.

Very active, Pascal is an avid participant in the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie. He is also an advocate for knowledge sharing, having mentored students aspiring to the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) designation.
