That’s because the Canadian hotelier has announced the elimination of fixed departure times for anyone booking directly with one of its hotels, whether on their websites or by telephone, in order to offer hotel guests an even more comfortable experience.
The first in the Canadian hotel industry to do so, such measure reflects the bold spirit behind Group Germain Hotels and its desire to exceed the expectations of its guests. In addition to allowing guests to sleep in, this new advantage will also allow them to return to their room after a busy day before continuing their journey. When guests register at the hotel, they simply have to let staff know at what time they would like to leave their room at the end of their stay.
For the hotel group, this measure also aims to reward guests who book directly with its properties, without going through an intermediary such as an online booking agency. "Booking directly with a hotel offers significant but nonetheless little known advantages for travelers," said Christiane Germain, co-president of Group Germain Hotels. For instance, reserving directly with Le Germain and Alt Hotels without using a third party’s platform allows travelers to access the real inventory of available rooms and to take advantage of exclusive offers and packages.
At the same time, Christiane Germain adds: "Hoteliers have to pay a commission to online booking agencies, a significant amount of money that could normally be reinvested into the customer experience."
