Cocktail o’clock in Toronto

Light up your night at the best places in town for happy hour!

Happy hour is about to get happier : here are our three suggestions of hip restaurants and bars in Toronto to enjoy a cider, a beer or a cocktail.

HER FATHER’S CIDER BAR + KITCHEN

119, Harbord Street

This little restaurant specialized in cider is heaven on earth for those who don’t like to drink beer. Choose among their dozens and dozens of local and imported ciders to create your customizable degustation flight. On the menu: appetizers as well as bigger meals, such as cabbage rolls, vegetarian chili or beef short ribs.

BATCH

75, Victoria Street

After a long day of shopping near Eaton Center, a little 5-minutes’ walk from the boutiques, you’ll find this lovely little brewery where you can enjoy an ice cold beer. Our favorite? The Mangled Wheat, a white beer with a subtle touch of mango. Order their crispy chicken sandwich or rarebit grilled cheese to go with it. Before leaving, grab a beer from their “beer to go’’ fridge.

RESTAURANT-BAR VICTOR

30, Mercer Street

If you’re staying at the Le Germain Hotel Toronto, you don’t need to even leave the building to enjoy happy hour. Located near the lobby, the Restaurant-Bar Victor is the ideal place to sip a nice cocktail. A must-try is their signature gin and tonic with hints of rhubarb, pink grapefruit, lime and pink peppercorns. You’ll soon find that it is one of the best gin cocktails you’ve tasted in a long time.
